Mangoes have been cultivated in South Asia for over 4,000 years. The name comes from the Tamil word mangkay. They were introduced to Africa and Brazil by Portuguese traders in the 16th century.
Pakistan is the 5th largest mango producer globally, exporting to the UK, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
